THE INSTITUTE FOR INTEGRATIVE NUTRITION: MY HONEST OPINION

It’s official. I received my certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in the mail. It is crazy how fast a year has flown by. It feels like I was just sitting down at my kitchen table deciding if I really wanted to go back to school, and yet here I am a graduate from a program I never would have thought I’d be interested in! I get so many questions asking my thoughts on the program that IIN offers and if I would recommend it over other schools. With 100% confidence, I would have to say: YES.

At the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, you learn a lot about food and nutrition from different experts in the field, however they teach you other things that can affect our health and wellness, something that they call your Primary Food. This “food” is not actually what you put in your mouth; think of it as relationships, physical activity, career, etc. I have learned how to manage a coaching business and how to interact and coach clients. Throughout this program I have also had the honor of connecting with some other amazing health coaches.

IIN is based in New York City, however the program is available to students all over the world using something they call distance learning. All of the modules and lectures are online and available through platforms like your computer, tablet or cell phone. Each week a new module is released and can be completed at your own pace. This was perfect for me because I currently have a full-time job, so completing the program at my own pace was a nice bonus.

The program is based on a bio-individuality and holistic approach to nutrition. Bio-individuality means what may work for one person might not also work for someone else. We also learned a variety of different dietary theories that gives you the ability to pick and chose what works for you and your practice. In addition to the theories, we also learned that being healthy is more than just what you put into your mouth. Nutrition is just a piece of the wellness puzzle, but there are so many other factors that can affect your health and that includes things like your spirituality, career, relationship, stress, physical activity, etc.

I highly recommend this program to anyone interested in learning about holistic health and if you want to help people in pursuing their health and wellness goals. This program not only gives you the background on food and nutrition, but it also gives you the tools that you need to start your own business. Just with anything though, you get what you put in. They help and guide you through marketing, partnerships, and finding clients, however it is up to you to get out there and show your value!

If you are at all interested in the IIN program, please feel free to reach out or comment below with any questions. I am an IN ambassador and stay up to date on the latest specials that the school is running for new students, so please contact me!

To a life in full,

♡Amanda
